Title IX Information

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. It reads:  "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

It is the policy of TTC Whiteville not to discriminate on the basis of sex in the education programs or activities which it operates, including employment therein and the admission of students thereto.  Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 requires TTC Whiteville, and the regulations issued pursuant thereto (45 C.F.R., Part 86) (and by Section 799A and 845 of the Health Service Act and regulations issued pursuant thereto), not to discriminate in such manner.
