Dear Prospective Practical Nursing Student,

Thank you for your interest in our Practical Nursing Program.

In order to be considered for entry into the Practical Nursing Program, you must meet or exceed the following criteria:

· You must be at least 18 years of age (if under 18, please contact Mrs. Avent, the Practical Nursing Coordinator, at the TTC Jackson campus at 731-424-0691, extension 120).

· You must have a high school diploma or GED.

· You must have a passing score on the Compass Test, NET Test, or ACT. The score must be in the top scores submitted to make the class.

· The Practical Nursing Program Application Packet will be sent by mail or the applicants will be notified to pick up their packets. The top scores will be notified first after the last testing date. All paperwork must be completed and turned in by the deadlines stated in the Packet.

· If you wish to reactivate your previous test scores, a reactivation form must be filled out and submitted before the last testing date. Forms may be accessed through our website (www.ttcwhiteville.edu), or by calling the office. Test scores are valid for 2 years from the date you took the test.

NOTE: The class starting May 3, 2010 will be held at the campus in Whiteville, TN.The following schedule is through March, 2010.

Test fee is $15.00. This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Test fee must be paid with cash or money order. NO CHECKS!

We are limited to 13 tests per session. Tests are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can pre-register for the tests beginning January 4, 2010.

Please arrive ten minutes prior to scheduled test times.

You must bring valid photo identification.

CALCULATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED!

The test will include Reading Comprehension and Pre-Algebra.

Passing score is 50% on the Pre-Algebra portion and 80% on Reading Comprehension.

The test is computer-based, with no time limit.

If you do not pass a portion of the test, you are eligible to retake the failed portion no earlier than 30 days from the date of the initial test.

Please arrive 10 minutes before class. There are four class preparation dates and test on the last day. You will need to pre-register for the class with payment in cash or money order.

The cost of the class is $78.50, including the test, cash or money order.
